Roach will make Pacquiao tougher

Hall of fame trainer Freddie Roach aims to make Manny Pacquiao tougher in two weeks.  Roach plans to make Manny spar for 30 rounds against Amir Khan, Vanes Martirosyan and Peter Quillin.  This will be the hardest part of the training camp, once Roach leaves Philippines they will do the sparring in the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, California.  According to the news at GMANews.tv, Roach said "It would be a big week for sparring. This week and next week.  I have more sparring there (Los Angeles), better sparring. No, not better, but more of the style I’ve been looking for.”

Roach is raising the level of training at this point.  Pacquiao had only sparred for 36 rounds for the past four weeks against undefeated Glen Tapia and Michael Medina.  "Manny is 100 percent in the the mitts, but only 50 percent in sparring," said Roach.  Roach plans to have 30 rounds this week and another 30 by next week.  It is going to be a deadly two week training for Manny Pacquiao.

By next week, Manny Pacquiao will be facing against unbeaten junior middleweight "Kid Chocolate" Peter Quillin (21-0, 15 KO's), Vanes Mortirosyan (28-0, 17 KO's) and WBA light-welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO's) on their sparring sessions.
